Ski School: Private or group lessons from Vail's team of elite instructors can help you conquer any type of terrain. Whatever your level or interest, Vail Snowsports School has a variety of programs to help you reach your goals. With over 160 instructors from around the world, representing 30 countries, instructors speak a variety of languages to meet and exceed the needs of international clientele. Indoors: Dobson Ice Arena - Dobson Ice Arena holds open skating at varying times Friday through Monday and Wednesday.
Outdoors: Alderhof Ice Rink - Located in Bavarian-inspired Lionshead Village at the base of Vail Mountain, open daily from 1-9 PM late November through mid-April. Admission free with skate rental.
Black Family Ice Rink - Right in Beaver Creek Village, Black Family opens daily from 12-9 PM November - April. Kids 12 and under cost $8 and adults are $14; pay $5 with your own skates.
Nottingham Lake - This naturally freezing lake in Avon usually opens in mid-December from 12-8 PM. Rentals cost $8; admission is free (Closed for repair 2013-2014) .
